Because I actually kept track of them for once:
Petite Maman — a haunting, wondrous movie about mothers and daughters and childhood and grief
Everything, Everywhere, All At Once — it’s just as great as everyone says
Brian and Charles — a sweet and gentle movie about social misfits
Nope — spooky and gorgeously shot, but also, just really really great characters
Bullet Train — this was so much fun. A heist movie that isn’t tendentious; delightful!
The Banshees of Inisherin — A wonderful movie that wears its philosophizing lightly
Aftersuns — A beautiful, melancholy movie about a father and daughter on vacation together. Parenting is hard. Being a kid is hard. But both are also really amazing.
The Menu — A very entertaining send-up of fine dining.
The Worst Person in the World — this is sort of in-between, because I absolutely adored it while watching, and then did a complete 180 afterwards (the New Yorker review does an excellent job explaining the problems). But the lead performance really is wonderful.
